Localized Content: TEACHER’S INTERACTIVE EDUCATIONAL RESOURCE

In 2004, Net Lab (then Net Effect), a company that specializes in Information and Communications Technology (ICT) integration programs, launched the Teacher’s Interactive Educational Resources (TIER) which is a collection of multimedia materials intended as supplementary instructional and learning materials for teachers and students.

To ensure that Net Lab’s TIER Modules are appropriate and relevant for Philippine Education, Net Lab partnered with a group of educators whose expertise is on Curriculum Development. The said group together with Net Lab’s expertise on technology primary goal was to help in integrating technology across the school’s curriculum. The TIER Modules are thematic in approach with several themes as foundation materials. This means that other modules can be added to supplement the foundation materials.

Current titlesfor Science are Inside the Atom and Everyday Phenomena, both co-developed with the late Marcelita C. Magno, Ph.D, Former Chair, Chemistry Education Group of the National Institute for Science and Mathematics Education Development, University of the Philippines.

Other titles are focused on Technology which include PC Basics and Internet Basics, both developed in-house by Net Lab’s ICT Consultants.
